Kandyan Era Paintings Kandyan era demarkate the re awakening of Sinhala Art when King Keerthi Sri Rajasingha called all Sinhala Artists and Craftsman scattered around island to renovate over 500 temples on the advice of Walivita Sri Saranankara Thero. Dambulla, Ridi Viharaya, The Temple of Tooth Kandy, Lankatilaka, Degaldoruwa, Gangaramya are great places to see kandyan Era paintings.
