West coast beaches have the easiest to access from Colombo Airport. You can spend a day at Negambo or Mount lavinia to rest before you reach your destination. Mount Lavinia is only few km from Colombo, Sri Lankas commercial Capital with a good night life and quite entertainment. Kalutara and Bentota is great if you love water sports. Beruwala and Hikkaduwa as well Negambo is good for Scuba Diving. The west coast is best during October to April for Surfing, Scuba Diving. Marawila, Chilaw are more peace full beaches with less crowd. Negambo was once favorite town of Dutch and has great Dutch Architecture and Archeology. The best about west coast is you are only 2 hours from Colombo.
